Making money as a video game tester sounds like easy money to many people. however there is a lot to do as a game tester along with playing the game.  Game testers are really evaluators of the games to make sure the game is worthy of a big promotional sendoff like a movie premiere or if it has a famous person’s name on it like Tony Hawk and John Madden or other famous people who endorse or make their own video games.  Everything must be perfect for video game release date just as they do with movies and DVD premieres.

 A video game tester must evaluate every aspect of every video game they are assigned in order to receive their payment, which is often very sizable considering they’re playing video games for payments. There are video games for every age and every skill level which all need testing before they can be mass-produced and released to the general public.  A video game tester must make sure that all the components of the video game are working properly at every level, for every skill set from the lowest beginner to the highest scorer.

 In order to become a video game tester, one must look to the Internet to find these opportunities and video game manufacturers must have a website with the information available to potential video game testers in an easy to obtain format.  One way to reach more potential game testers is for the video game manufacturing company to use search engine optimization or SEO.  Search engine optimization is the act of placing keyword rich articles on their website in order to attract the three major search engines – MSN, Google and Yahoo! – which send out “feelers” in order to find these keywords or keyword phrases and then rank a website according to a special formula.  Keywords or keyword phrases would be the words a video game tester uses in the search boxes on the search engine to find what they need or want, in this case a video game testing job.

 It may be hard to believe that anyone besides Disneyland is making money in these economic hard times; however if a person does their homework and searches the Internet using the right keywords and a video game manufacturer who has used the same keywords then the two would come together and a person looking for a job as a video game tester could possible find one. It’s not that difficult to use the search boxes on the search engines with keywords and keyword phrases.  Additionally, one should not always pick the first few listings because there might be a better choice further down the website pages.
