In order for company who sells incontinence aids to increase their income, they must first have an Internet presence so that they can engage in Internet marketing methods in order to bring more customers through their website and into their real-world brick-and-mortar store.

Making money through Internet marketing methods has been a time honored tradition beginning with search engine optimization or SEO.  Search engine optimization is the act of placing keyword rich articles on a business’ website in order to attract the attention of the three major search engines – MSN, Yahoo!, and Google.  These three major search engines send out their “feelers” in order to locate the keywords and keyword phrases among the articles and then rank the websites according to a special formula.  The keyword phrases in the keywords are what consumers place in the search boxes on the search engines in order to find what they need or want.  Having a high ranking on the major search engines is beneficial to a urinary incontinence website because the majority of potential customers who use the search engines make their choice of a website from the long list of websites brought back by the major search engines from the top five to 10 website listings.  Many people believed that the first few website listings are the best because they are listed at the top; however it may simply mean that these websites utilize search engine optimization with the keyword articles better than the rest of the website listings.

Another way to make money through an Internet marketing method would be to place a blog on a website to allow customers to talk about the various products and how they have helped them in their everyday lives.  People with bladder problems usually do not like to discuss this personal condition; however writing about it anonymously on a website dedicated to bladder control problems and the bladder control devices and aids designed to help their problems would be beneficial to them.

In addition to providing an outlet for people to discuss their bladder problems, a blog will also help increase the search engine ranking because the same keywords would be used in blog entries.  And having a high ranking on search engines means gaining more targeted customers to both the website and the real-world brick-and-mortar location which translates into making more money.

Having a web presence is important for any company, no matter what their business is, because the majority of people looking for a company turn to the Internet to search for what they need or want over all other media combined.  This includes their local phone book, newspapers and magazines and radio and television advertisements.
