Google has recently added a new feature to its search engine and that’s to allow users to access information as it is being generated in real time. An android apps developer says this feature is the acknowledgement of the pace at which information is being generated today.
Google’s search page will have a box called “Latest results” which will keep updating whenever a new article or piece of information regarding the queried subject is published online. This would be very handy to have when walking around the streets of New York, looking for a restaurant or other activities in which a real-time update would be helpful.
Android application developers are making this new Google search page feature available on the new Droid Smartphones – in addition to any phone running the android software platform – and the company plans to expand to allow other Smartphones such as Windows Mobile and Symbian to also run the new Google search page feature of real time updates.
One of the long-awaited features of the Google backed Droid Smartphones is the Google Maps Navigation, the long-rumored free real-time, turn-by-turn nav service. Simply hold the phone up and get a real-time directional arrow and a voice that tells you which way to turn until you reach your destination. No need to have a GPS system in the car or to carry one with you, because your Smartphone will help you navigate to where you’re going.
Another one of the latest featured apps of the Motorola/Verizon Droid Smartphone is from Taptu, which allows users the ability to discover new touch-friendly content, including Web content, images and real-time content delivered through OneRiot’s API.
Eliminating the frustration caused by using a search engine designed for the desktop, Taptu returns touch-friendly results on the android phones. Downloads that used to take upwards of a minute now only take a second or two to appear on your Smartphone.
Taptu android app has eliminated the need for pinching, resizing and re-focusing websites. The homepage presents users with the topics and trends on the real-time social network – providing a way to keep up with the latest news.
